What could be better than a revolution in classrooms all around the world in learning math??? Khan Academy “flips the classroom” – giving teachers a chance to teach by putting math lectures on YouTube. The video lectures give students an opportunity to review the material at their own pace, and teachers can individualize their responses according to each student’s level of understanding. A few people are aware of this incredible resource, and millions of people have completed lessons on the Khan Academy web site. But I wonder if people really understand that “flipping the classroom” is really the key to accelerating education in the developed world, and transforming education generally. We are on the verge of potentially creating a world of widespread mastery of calculus, physics, chemistry and biology.
